Editorial policy

Indexing is treated as an editorial decision, not an automatic side effect of import.

The database can contain more rows than the search index should expose. This site uses page-level quality thresholds so weaker or repetitive records remain browseable without becoming search spam.

Owner

Who reviews page quality

The current review owner is HospitalK Directory Team.

The default review method is Structured source data plus automated quality gating..

Thresholds

How the quality gate works

Pages scoring 58 or above are eligible for sitemap inclusion and search indexing.

Pages scoring below 38 are delivered with noindex, follow. Records in the middle remain available to users, but stay out of competitive indexing until they gain enough unique detail.

Signals

What makes a page strong enough to index

  • A clear clinic title with meaningful overview text
  • Operational fields such as address, phone, and region context
  • Medical specialty or treatment detail fields
  • Source imagery is preferred; generated fallback visuals alone are not treated as a strong search signal
  • Region and region + specialty hubs are preferred over thin faceted result URLs
  • Enough specificity to avoid looking like a duplicate template
Why

Why some URLs stay live but not indexable

Some imported records are still useful to users and operators even when they are not yet strong enough for search. Keeping those pages available with noindex, follow is safer than forcing every record into the index.

This reduces scaled-content risk while preserving the directory as a practical research layer.
